Discover Energy with Megawatt

Curieus Games

A hands-on, fun experience in which students will play Megawatt, a card game that challenges players to build an electricity grid. Based on real-world data, students will attempt to balance power, impact and cost to build an electricity grid with different energy sources and technologies. Their grids are then put to the test with political or climate events to see who has the most resilient grid. Learning through play, the sessions can cover various KS3 and KS4 topics in Geography and Physics.

Sessions typically last between 1 - 2 hours, are suitable for both secondary and upper primary schools and can accommodate up to 30+ students.

We also offer full day workshops which can include a careers talk and a teacher session to learn how to use Megawatt in the classroom. Our facilitators are energy experts and work as engineers in the energy industry, so are well placed to answer any questions about energy or career pathways.
