Are you new to teaching A level biology? Do you have sound subject knowledge but want to strengthen your delivery to provide a stimulating and challenging experience for your students?
Biology is a fast changing subject which involves the teaching of ethically sensitive topics. Even teachers with a background in biology can find some of these issues daunting to deliver for the first time. You will meet researchers raising awareness of contemporary biology applications and careers. Through the development of new practical techniques and context based learning strategies this course will provide a foundation for those with little or no experience of teaching advanced level biology. We will address common misconceptions and consider ways of assessing students understanding and learning.
