Summary
Using authentic contexts, such as stories and real-life problems, enables pupils to engage with abstract and challenging ideas.
This two-day course will explore ways to introduce contexts relating to people, animals, places, materials and problems solving. These strategies will enable pupils to understand the practical applications of science and explore the work of real scientists.
Sessions will be structured to support teachers to plan a curriculum that meets the needs of the pupils in their school, whilst developing their individual science capital.
