Summary

This course has been specifically designed for teachers new to leading primary STEM. You will be able to explore the basics of creating a vision for STEM, audit current provision and develop strategies to raise the profile of STEM at a whole school level. You will receive guidance, advice and support to help you develop a full and varied curriculum that not only focusses on the curriculum basics but introduces children to learning that they may not encounter in their everyday lives.

You will work with experienced primary teachers to learn about how they have successful led change. You will also develop techniques to lead a team and ensure good pupil progress at a whole school level.

Over the 3 days you will build your confidence and develop the expertise to support your colleagues to deliver an effective and engaging STEM curriculum.

This is a residential course, fees include meals and accommodation for the duration of the course.

Outcomes

You will be able to:

  • Develop strategies to embed your vision for primary STEM in your school
  • lead improvement in the quality of STEM teaching and learning within your school
  • develop and structure your role as a leader of primary STEM
