Summary

Children are now born into a technology rich world where they can be engaging with a range of technology and digital content from a very young age. The impact of such immersion in technology is still being researched and debated with regard to the effects on a child’s development. Explore the digital world young children are being exposed to and how a range of technologies can be used effectively in EYFS settings particularly to develop speaking, listening, reading writing and being imaginative. We will also explore how we can support parents to make appropriate decisions on how they use technology at home with their young children and the risk of technology being used as a digital baby sitter.
