Summary

Designed to support teachers who are delivering or planning to deliver GCSE Engineering.

Sessions will help the teaching of:

  • material properties, and materials testing (load, Young’s Modulus, etc)
  • performing calculations and support with teaching mathematical content
  • electronics, including the use of PICAXE to develop Non Examined Assessment (NEA) projects
  • control principles, including how LEGO and VEX can be used as part of the qualification

As part of the course, we will also discuss delivery of the AQA specification and develop ideas for delivery of the NEA.

All participants will receive electronics kits for and access to our online community group, ensure that you are only just an email away from our subject specialists when you go back to the classroom.

This is a residential CPD, fees include meals and accommodation for the duration of the course.

Outcomes

You will be able to:

  • develop your own subject knowledge in engineering, mathematics and science
  • create your own teaching resources to support teaching the new engineering GCSE
