Summary

Aimed at primary teachers who want to bring robotics into their lessons, the Crumble Controller is an exciting piece of computing equipment that’s being used in key stage 2 to create hands-on robotics projects in computing, science and design and technology. Come and try out the Crumble for yourself; make lights change colour, use sensors and switches to control movement and create a roving crumble buggy to take home!

“I had an amazing time and found everyone very welcoming. The presenters knowledge and skills with crumble were outstanding. It was really worth attending.”

Past participant

Filled with practical sessions that will have you creating your own robotics projects in no time. Day one starts by showing you how to download and use the free Crumble software. Similar to Scratch, you build your programme by snapping together Crumble blocks on the screen. Once you have the software mastered, we connect up the controller to make your lights and motors come to life.

Day two of the course looks at how the Crumble can be used with classes to enhance different primary subjects. Sessions will include support for teaching pupils how to use the Crumble software, the effective management of equipment, progression of Crumble skills and learning outcomes and ideas for projects that work well in the primary classroom.

To see how the Cumble controller can support your classroom curriculum, take a look at this video.

All of the materials and components for you to use during the two days will be available for you to take away, allowing you to continue to develop your own projects back in school. You’ll also be enrolled into the Crumble community group where you can share your ideas with like-minded participants.
