Engineering GCSE: getting to grips with the engineering, mathematics and science subject content TY224 / A17

 This two day course is designed to support teachers to develop their subject knowledge in engineering, science and mathematics, supporting the delivery of engineering GCSE.

Sessions will help the teaching of material properties (and materials testing), structural systems, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, calculating forces and strength, and Young’s Modulus and aerodynamics. We will also look at the support that industry can offer to ensure a relevant and real-life engineering curriculum.

The mathematics content covered during the course will help with the teaching of rearranging equations, calculations of scientific measurements (such as load, stiffness, Young’s Modulus, etc…), scale, converting units, fractions, calculating bulk costs, ratio, tolerances and understanding graphs.

As part of the course, we will provide free teaching resources to support your teaching of Science and Maths, and our online community group will ensure that you are only just an email away from our subject specialists when you go back to the classroom.

This is a residential course, fees include meals and accommodation for the duration of the course.
