Summary
Run in conjunction with MEI, this two day residential CPD activity is designed for mathematics specialist practitioners who teach resit GCSE mathematics which concentrates on the use of contextualisation in the teaching and learning of post-16 GCSE mathematics. Participants will use the MEI contextualisation toolkit to explore ideas about contextualisation, discover sources of inspiration and will have the opportunity to develop their own resources. All participants will become members of an online community to share ideas and resources.
Outcomes
Participants will:
- develop their expertise in the use of context in the teaching and learning of GCSE mathematics post-16
- develop confidence and skills in delivering GCSE mathematics resit to post-16 students
- explore a variety of freely available teaching resources which can be adapted to be used in context
- develop and share their own contextualised resources
