I have been a technician for 21 years. Starting only as a trainee. Within my first 3 years I achieved the NVQ2 and 3 Technicians Working in Education qualifications. I then moved to another school for my first senior technician post. This was a science specialism school and here I had my first contact working with primary outreach. In 2010 I was head hunted back to be senior at my old school. I agreed, and within the next 18 months I achieved the STACS certificate from York and became CHIEF Technician and STEM club coordinator, a job role which I created myself. I now run 3 STEM clubs , 2 of those being Primary outreach. I have received the Gratnells technician of the year 2013 award and STEM Enthuse Celebration Award for technicians in Education.
I have just achieved the CPD Quality Mark: Associate Develpoment Leader and regularly present for STEM learning York and technician networking meetings and conferences.
