Matt has been teaching Computing since 2004 and is currently a Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education and Computing at Oxford Brookes University. Formerly, he was Assistant Head, Digital Strategy and Computing Subject Leader at Headington School in Oxford. Alongside his current role, he is the primary schools lead for Bucks, Berks, and Oxon (BBO) Computing Hub. He is a CAS Master Teacher, Oxford Primary CAS Community Leader, BCS Certified Computer Science Teacher, Raspberry Pi Certified Educator, and STEM Senior PDL. Matt has also developed content for the Teach Computing Curriculum and is a member of the NCCE Leadership Practitioners panel. Matt has written a number of articles for the HelloWorld publication, a computing education magazine. Matt has worked extensively with Dr Jane Waite from Cambridge University to support her research into primary programming pedagogy. He is a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is also the Vice-chair of Governors For Oak Green Primary School in his home town.
