Primary Design and Technology Introductory Project - The Puff Buggy
A team working introductory design and technology activity for primary pupils aged 7-11 working in small teams. The activity takes between 60-90 minutes to complete.
Activity Theme: Vehicles and Motion
STEM Links: Forces, Friction, Kinetic Energy, Vehicles, Axles, Structural Aerodynamics and Problem Solving.
Key Skills: Team Working, Evaluation, Communication and Research and Devleopment
The Activity: The students build a small wind powered buggy with a 'passenger' using set building materials that are generally available from well stocked classrooms. The activity includes teachers notes, how to demonstrate principles, list of materials required and the student challenge etc.
