The Naked Scientist
The Naked Scientists radio show and website is a highly accessible, entertaining and informative creation brought to you each week by an enthusiastic group of physicians and researchers from Cambridge University. The website contains a host of useful resources, including podcasts of all their radio shows, articles and a 'Kitchen Science' section with details of how to perform your own simple experiments.
Schoolscience web site
A website provided by the Association for Science Education which contains resources, information and contacts for teachers and learners of science. There are separate sections for all key stages, competitions, lesson plans, notices of events and links to free resources from suppliers. An e-sources section gives clear links to online resources provided by partner organisations.
Children's University
Interactive, online learning site for key stage 2 from The University of Manchester. Developed to create links between Universities research activities, teaching and learning practices and primary schools. The site offers a selection of interactive learning mini sites looking at: the earth and beyond; teeth and eating; micro-organisms and the brain and senses. The mini sites offer: learning materials for use on whiteboards or PCs; video clips; downloadable resources and educational games.
School science health and safety (CLEAPSS)
CLEAPSS is an advisory service providing support in the field of safety in science for schools and local authorities, including establishments for pupils with special needs.
Bad science
Blog published by Ben Goldacre, author of the "Bad Science" column in the Guardian newspaper. Ben chats about how science is represented in the media, giving examples of bad science. Site includes forums and lists forthcoming events.
Vega science videos
