Simultaneous equations

This unit is for higher GCSE pupils who are familiar and confident with solving linear equations and graphing them. 

Lesson 1 - Explore the graphical solution of simultaneous equations. Either use graphical calculators or laptops with the online plotting tool below. Ask students to trace the graphs to find the solutions. They can then later solve them using algebraic methods and compare the results.

Lesson 3  - Pupils solve a rich task involving linear equations such as the Warmsnug Double Glazing task from Nrich. There will be many more tasks on their website.
