Becoming a secondary school teacher

This text is written to support PGCE students in the initial stages of their teaching careers and mentors who are central in their training. Students are guided through the PGCE year, looking at and revisiting major issues such as students management and assessment in increasingly complex ways. A practical research strand runs throughout, using case studies and covering action research strategies to provide students with the tools to evaluate their own teaching.
