Primary science innovation network RA121 / E03
Summary
These 3 twilight sessions are free for all schools to attend as part of the new Primary Innovation Network.
Stuart Naylor (co creator of Concept Cartoons) is the key note speaker at our first session "Children taking the lead in scientific enquiry".
This will be followed by a session on Working Scientifically (January 14th). This will include ideas on how to ensure that the 5 strands of enquiry are embedded into the science education of all students.
Assessment, Feedback and Progression (March 10th) will look at how formative assessment can be used to dive progress and attainment for all pupils, including how to develop robust teacher assessments.
Theses twilight sessions will culminate with the dissemination of free resources purchased specifically for this network of Primary schools to those schools who attend all 3 sessions.
Outcomes
An increased understanding of independent student enquiry
- understanding of the 5 strands of Working Scientifically and how to embed into the scheme of learning
- what formative assessment looks like, and how to use it to drive progress and attainment for all students
