“If you’re new to the chalkface, the challenge of teaching A level maths can be a tough one.”

This is what Michael Anderson explains in his latest article in SecEd.

In this article, Michael, the mathematics specialist for the National STEM Learning Centre and Network, explains the challenges of teaching A level mathematics, providing a number of pointers and strategies to give mathematics teachers inspiration for their lessons.

From September 2017, the A level mathematics curriculum requirements will be changing, making it essential for mathematics teachers to ensure they have the necessary knowledge needed to teach the new curriculum with confidence.

This SecEd article outlines these changes and provides a number of opportunities for teachers of A level mathematics to prepare.

How can you be prepared?

The National STEM Learning Centre is hosting a CPD activity in December – ‘Preparing to teach the new A level mathematics curriculum’, providing teachers with the opportunity to stay up to date with the curriculum changes.
