Get involved with the CyberFirst Girls Competition

A unique opportunity for teams of girls to compete in fun online cyber security challenges, the CyberFirst Girls Competition has returned for another year.

CyberFirst launched this competition to provide a fun but challenging environment to enthuse the next generation of females with computer science and cybersecurity.

Aimed at students in Year 8 (12-13 year olds), girls are tasked with answering and solving a series of challenges, earning badges along the way. In each category, the challenges are separated into three levels of difficulty: beginner, intermediate and expert.

Each level will have up to three challenges available at once, with more becoming unlocked as the girls progress.

The top ten teams will be invited to take part in the Grand Final in Greater Manchester.

Key competition dates

  • 16 January 2018: team registration
  • 29 January – 5 February 2018: online round takes place
  • 18-19 March 2018: the Grand Final
