Bringing Demo Day 2017 into the classroom

British Science Week is a fantastic opportunity to engage students of all ages with science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

This year’s British Science Week is taking place on 10-19 March 2017. Every year during British Science Week, Demo Day takes place and aims to inspire school teachers and technicians to explore new concepts, provoke discussions and generate excitement through running science demonstrations.

How can you get involved?

Practical work is becoming more and more essential in all subjects, and can be a fantastic way of engaging students with STEM through hands-on activities.

Demo Day 2017 will be taking place on Thursday 16 March, and there are plenty of ways you can get involved.

To make it easy to get involved, the British Science Association has created a variety of resources that you can use to make Demo Day 2017 the best yet.

Whether you would like ideas for demonstrations you can use, or are simply looking for some guidance, the British Science Week website holds plenty of inspiration.

The STEM Learning resource collection also features a range of ideas and resources that you can use during British Science Week.

If you are planning to run a demonstration on Demo Day, the British Science Association is asking teachers and technicians to pledge their involvement.
