The BioMedia Meltdown Competition is back for 2017!
The Linnean Society of London has teamed up with the John Lyon’s Charity to bring the BioMedia Meltdown, a creative science competition, to boroughs in North West London.
The BioMedia Meltdown competition challenges key stage 3 students to creatively express scientific ideas linked to ecosystems or evolution.
Last year over a thousand fantastic entries were received, ranging from stop-motion animation and illustrated books to superb sculptures and prints of pollinators.
Everyone who enters will be invited to a celebration event the Linnean Society, where the art will be showcased and prizes awarded! This year we have even more incredible prizes to give away: including a Keeper for the Day experience at London Zoo and £500 cash prize for the school with the highest number of entries.
To help inspire young people to enter we have two brand new workshops that can be delivered for free in eligible boroughs. We have also been busy updating our loan kits, which are full of inspiring ideas and all the equipment you need to create some winning entries.
The entry deadline is 26 January 2018.
