Are you looking for a new challenge? Apply for Now Teach
Are you looking for a new challenge? Now Teach was set up a year ago to recruit late-stage career changers to teach shortage subjects (maths, science and languages) in challenging schools.
It was co-founded by Lucy Kellaway, FT associate editor, and Katie Waldegrave, a social entrepreneur who previously set up the education charity First Story.
Now Teach is passionate about inspiring the next generation to take an interest in subjects such as science, technology, engineering and maths.
Now in its second year; 45 people started their new careers with Now Teach last September and they are hoping to further that this year.
David Butler, a physics teacher at Ark Walworth, applied for Now Teach:
“I wanted to give back. Several friends suggested teaching so I looked at various different routes in, but it was a no-brainer, Now Teach was the right route.
“Giving back isn’t just about teaching, it’s also about being a role model to a whole demographic that is disadvantaged and showing them anything is possible."
If you wish to transfer the skills you have accumulated in your current career to the classroom – Now Teach can help you make that change.
