The Rolls-Royce Schools Prize for Science & Technology is an awards programme that helps teachers increase science, technology, and mathematics engagement in their schools and colleges. The awards programme is open each year to all schools and colleges in the UK and runs over 2 academic years.

In September, schools and colleges are invited to submit a Stage 1 application outlining an idea for a sustainable science, mathematics or technology project for development during the next academic year. The proposed project could be a new idea or the progression of something you are already working on, but should be innovative, unique and specific to your setting.

From the Stage 1 applications, Judges will select Special Merit Award (SMA) winning projects who progress to the next stage. At Stage 2 you are invited to provide more detailed information about how your project will be planned, implemented and evaluated. After successfully submitting your Stage 2 application, you will receive a £1000 award to help develop your project ideas. Judges will then select the Finalists from the Stage 2 applications submitted.

Finalists will receive a further £5000 to implement their action plan during the following academic year. You will also be paired with a Rolls-Royce Mentor who will offer support for your project to implement your action plan during the full academic year.

The Schools Prize programme will culminate with an Awards Event, hosted by Rolls-Royce, with the winning schools receiving recognition in a number of categories including a £5000 prize for the overall winner.

This year we are delighted to launch the exclusive Rolls-Royce Schools Prize for Science & Technology Alumni Group on our STEM Community, enabling teachers and educators to share ideas, experience and expertise throughout their project journey and beyond. RRSPST Alumni will also have access to information and opportunities across the Rolls-Royce STEM education outreach programme.
