Out of This World; Space Coding Challenge

The "Out of This World" activities compromise of two workshops you can download and deliver in your school or club.

Workshop 1: Jump to the moon, teaches pupils to code a micro:bit so that it can train pupils to have a steady hand - you don't want to be a clumsy astronaut!

Workshop 2: Speed of Light helps pupils to create a fitness trainer out of their micro:bit as well as explaining the need for astronauts to be fit and healthy.

These fun, engaging and free resources come with power points, activity plans, coding examples and tutorial videos.

Expected outcomes

Students will be able to:

- write and debug programs that accomplish specific goals

-decompose problems into smaller parts

- use sequence, selection and variables

-Collect and present data

-use logical reasoning to explain how simple algorithms work

-detect and correct errors in programs
