Baylab - Free Science Workshops

Sound scientific expertise is essential for meeting the challenges of the future. That is why Bayer is passionate about wakening an interest in science among young people at an early age and encouraging their development.
Based in the beautiful waterside setting of Green Park, Reading, this free laboratory for schools offers state of the art equipment, intriguing experiments, and the chance to use innovative ideas to solve tasks and develop solutions. Covering key stages 2-5, it complements what the students learn at school and enables them to make their own unique discoveries.
Baylab workshops are designed to be fun and engaging. Students can learn about a whole range of topics from; Pollinators, dyes and pigmenets, the Heart, DNA structure, roles of enzymes in biotechnology and much more, all whilst learning sound scientific principles through a process of discovery.
We hope that students will:
1. Increased interest in Science
2. Furthers understanding of how science links to everyday life
3. Allows students to apply their learning
4. Enables students to visit a business premises and meet working professionals from scientific and non-scientific backgrounds
5. Supports teachers in bringing topics to life or providing them resources they may not have access to in school
