Architecture Workshops STEM Workshops For Key Stage 3, 4 & 5
Workshops are divided into two categories: Build_IT and KRE8 All of our workshops contain every aspect of STEM, due to the materials we use.
Build_IT Workshops are focused practical tasks utilising, DT, Maths; Science, Teamwork and Problem Solving a to differing degrees. Students work individually, in groups and altogether to create large scale reconstructions of famous architectural landmarks that bring curriculum subjects to life. These workshop run for 90 - 120 minutes (unless stated otherwise) with up to 25 or 35 students respectively; Ferris Wheel (60 minutes); Helter-Skelter; Roller Coaster; Geodesic Structures (60/90/120 mins); Greco-Roman Temple; Millennium Bridges; Millennium Dome; Mayan Temple; Octas (60/90 mins); Stadium Structures; Tetra (60/90/120 mins);Tudor Globe Theatre; Victorian Crystal Palace; Build_IT Humanities Workshops; Christian Architecture: Ely Cathedral; Indian Architecture: Taj Mahal; Islamic Architecture: Dome of the Rock; Hebrew Architecture: King Solomons Temple
Kre8 Workshops Focus on investigation, disassembly and evaluation as design and make assignments. Using DT, Maths, Science, Teamwork, Creativity, Problem Sloving these workshops are designed to stimulate pupils imagination, interpretative and visual problem solving skills helping to develop higher order thinking skills and growth mindset. The workshops are 90 - 120 minutes with 25 or 35 students respectivley; Art & Architecture Design Day; Art & Sculpture; Bridges, Maths & Design; Mathematical Shelters; Mathematical Structures; Mathmatical Skyscrapers; Olympic Sculptures
Build_IT workshops allow you to bring your history topics to life by getting your students to make large scale models of the iconic Architectural landmaks. In 120 minutes students will have engaged in Art, DT, Maths, Geography, Science, History and PHSE as well as having lots of fun, so much so they won't even realise they've been learning!
Kre8 workshops make for great inter-school, or in-school competitions, as they involve Teamwork, Problem Solving, 3D Design along with Communication Skills, Self Refection and Evaluation Skills to build the best Bridge/Shelter/Skyscraper
All Our Workshops Are Also Ideal For Extension & Enrichment as Well As Transition Days

Grants for school
The Royal Institution runs two enrichment and enhancement grant schemes. Grants of up to £500 are available to UK-registered state schools to host a STEM activity selected from the STEM Directory.
There are a number of other organisations that offer grants to schools.
