Maths to support low attainers in science SL466
Explore techniques and strategies to support low prior attaining students to help them apply mathematical skills successfully within a science context.
Summary
Join us to explore the common difficulties students experience when applying their mathematics in secondary science. We will discover best practice in mathematical topics including approaches to topics such as graphing, numeracy and algebra. We will also cover themes of representations and structures that underpin key mathematical concepts in science, how to build reasoning, and problem solving into your teaching and strategies to build learners’ resilience, giving you increased confidence when teaching the mathematical aspects of secondary science and the skills and strategies students require to meet these requirements.
