Summary

Are you new to teaching biology at KS4? Would you like to understand the misconceptions students have and best to address them? The teaching key stage 4 biology course will support you by developing your pedagogical and subject knowledge with a focus on the key principles needed to teach biology effectively. You will develop the use of stimulating practical activities and demonstration.

This is a residential course, fees include meals and accommodation for the duration of the course.  

Who is it for?

  • experienced teachers who are not scientists but are required to teach key stage 4 biology
  • scientists who are not biology specialists or with limited experience of delivering key stage 4 biology
  • NQT/ RQT 

What topics will be covered?

You will explore and refine understanding of key topics such as respiration’ photosynthesis, enzymes, and homeostasis
