Using micro:bits to collect data in school surveys - INVITE ONLY Puckrup CN014 / F05
Summary
The micro: bit can be used in the primary classroom to develop the use of technology in collecting, analysing, and presenting data. Exploring activities linked to data collection, will enable you to use micro:bits within your school to support computing and the wider curriculum.
You will find out how to use micro:bits in your school to collect data through curriculum linked activities including: comparing surface temperatures, investigating biodiversity, measuring areas, and tracking physical activity.
This course supports primary schools to use micro:bits to collect data to find out about the world. Carrying out a playground survey using these devices will support the primary certificate as part of an engaging enrichment activity. Activities used on this course were developed for the BBC micro:bit playground survey, which ran in Summer 2024.
Your local computing hub can provide a loan- able micro:bit kit enabling you to implement activities using this device in your classroom.
