Summary
Facilitated by Richard Genn, author of the A-Level Environmental Science Textbook, this meeting builds on the practical skills training session held on 24th April. It is not necessary for you to have attended the session on the 24th to get the most out of this training.
Agenda
1. Methodologies - how to incorporate them in class-based sessions.
2. Preliminary studies - where students should start their planning.
3. Statistical tests - how to turn them from problems into solutions.
Case study: Assessing the health impacts of chronic pesticide exposure.
4. The Mann-Whitney U test - how to lead students through the procedures.
Part 4 is for teachers that are not confident with the M-W U test. Those that are, can leave at the end of part 3.
