Using micro:bits to collect data in school surveys CL014 / E01
Summary
The micro: bit can be used in the primary classroom to develop the use of technology in collecting, analysing, and presenting data. Exploring activities linked to data collection, will enable you to use micro:bits within your school to support computing and the wider curriculum.
You will find out how to use micro:bits in your school to collect data through curriculum linked activities including: comparing surface temperatures, investigating biodiversity, measuring areas, and tracking physical activity.
This course will support you in joining in the BBC micro:bit playground survey. This is a national survey carried out by primary schools using their micro:bits to understand how data may be used to find out about the world. Carrying out the playground survey will support the primary certificate as part of an engaging enrichment activity.
Your local computing hub can provide a loanable micro:bit kit enabling you to implement activities using this device in your classroom.
