Session 2 of RC024 B04 Working Scientifically Webinars - Guiding skills for working scientifically

  • To consider what purposeful practical work looks like in Year 2.
  • To reflect on how the EEF’s seven-step model can help develop pedagogy to guide Year 2 pupils to work scientifically.
  • Inspired by the new EEF report on Improving Primary Science, this one-hour webinar will explore effective strategies for developing working scientifically skills through purposeful practical work linked to pupils’ learning about Plants, Animals including humans, Materials and Seasonal change.

Improve children’s outcomes through effective teaching of scientific enquiry.Understanding ‘working scientifically’ is vital for children to develop ideas, skills, knowledge and understanding in science. This course will support you to implement strategies for planning, resourcing and organising enquiry.  You will explore teaching approaches that enable children to that develop their scientific thinking and help them understand scientific phenomenon in the world around them.
