Summary
There is a large body of research that highlights the importance of identifying students’ current ideas and views of phenomena, if we are to identify their learning boundary, and support them in developing and moving forward their conceptual understanding. It is therefore important to take time to identify students’ ideas, especially related to these difficult and troublesome phenomena.
This short course will provide you with a range of ideas to help you identify the troublesome phenomena and misconceptions your students may have and demonstrate practical approaches you can use immediately in your classroom to elicit evidence of your students’ thinking.
