Working with High performing prior attaining pupils RN298 / B154
Summary
We know that many high prior attainers (HPA) underachieve in science, but we're often not sure what even defines a HPA student and therefore how we might accelerate their progress. Enrichment can have its place, e.g. science clubs and trips, but ultimately it's about the provision of challenge in the classrooms so that students are encouraged to think more deeply. This session will provide opportunities for thinking about what makes a successful learner in science and how to provide meaningful challenge through adaptive pedagogy and classroom activities.
