Herefordshire & Worcestershire Subject Leader Network- Online sessions only RC298 / B242

Summary

This course consists of four remote sessions and a face to face day suitable for Heads of Science, Key Stage or subject leads and anyone aspiring to these roles.

The sessions will focus on the current ideas or best practice research related to the effective teaching of secondary science.  We plan to discuss, reflect upon and action plan around the topics of:

  • Curriculum
  • Assessment at KS3 in particular
  • Transition and progress
  • Purposeful practical activities and how investigative work could be embedded into the curriculum
  • Maths in Science

The sessions are bespoke, responsive to any changes which occur nationally and can be flexible to meet the priorities of the participants.

There will be the opportunity for coaching and mentoring, sharing good practice and problem solving together.

The course will be led by Amanda Clegg and Karen Collins who have over 50 years of classroom and leadership experience between them.
