Summary
This course explores and exemplifies some of the key recommendations from the EEF's 'Improving secondary science' and 'Metacognition and self-regulated learning' guidance reports, as well as the 'Cognitive science approaches in the classroom' systematic review.
Aimed at KS3/4 science teachers, participants will develop an understanding of evidence informed approaches they can use back in the classroom to refine their practice.
By the end of the session you will have a greater understanding of:
- How to identify and address pupil misconceptions
- Using models to support understanding
- Effective approaches to feedback
