Summary
The theme of this year's primary science conference is 'Practical Science'. Throughout the day there will be opportunities to network, hear from science partners from across the region, and to attend a choice of workshops including:
-Supporting KS2-3 science transition with a focus on progression in 'working scientifically'
Bob Cooper: STEM Learning- Exploring the five types of enquiry. A hands-on workshop involving up to 10 different investigations.
Iain Davison: Data Harvest- A hands-on workshop exploring how IT can support working scientifically.
Donna Lovelock: LifeLab, University of Southampton. Using the Early LifeLab Health Warriors programme to support scientific enquiry based learning and cross-curricular practical activities to help children understand why healthy choices matter.
Bob Cooper: STEM Learning- Working Scientifically Outdoors
Sarah Anderson: Solent Maths Hub- Applying mathematical skills through the science curriculum
Sam Taylor: Hampshire and Dorset SLP- Preparing for British Science Week. Signposting ideas and resources to help you plan.
Steve Smith: Hampshire and Dorset SLP- Key takeaways from the Ofsted science research review regarding working scientifically
