The course is about linking science and maths and would be useful to Science Leaders, Maths Leaders, classroom teachers and members of a schools SLT.
The primary science curriculum provides many opportunities for children to use and apply a range of mathematical skills in practical and engaging contexts. Creating strong links between science and maths is very beneficial for increasing attainment in both subjects. This training will explore a range of strategies and ideas for linking the two subjects including how ‘rich maths tasks’ relating to measure, data handling, place value, fractions, percentages, averages, shape and angles can be effectively included in science lessons. Attendees will be provided with skills and tools to support the implementation of developing mathematics skills in science lessons.
