Explore the key issues affecting secondary science, through a series of presentations and workshops. Join Victoria Rigby and Stephen Burrowes for a day of development for Subject Leaders across the North Midlands.

Workshops to include:

Ofsted reviews impact on science leadership.

Reflecting on the latest research evidence form Ofsted how will this inform your conversations with your team and senior leadership. How does your department compare?

Empowering your team to deliver purposeful practical work.

This session will reflect on your current experience in your team and review the art of demonstration and hands on practical that is planned to support progression in pupils understanding and allow opportunity for all in science lessons.

Meeting the needs of our most able pupils in science.

This session will discuss pedagogies that are evidence based and appropriate for your most able learners. As a subject lead you will be able to respond to the questions – do we plan learning to meet our most ambitious student’s needs?

Inspirational practical work

This session will share ideas and explore practical activities that ensure lessons are remembered and help learners to understand concepts more – as well as being fun! Come ready to share ideas!

 

There are a limited number of 70% Teacher Release Payment subsidies available to Maintained schools. Please email NMSLP@potteries.ac.uk to ask for the TRP code. Please note that this does not automatically deduct the fee immediately.  You will receive an invoice for the full amount and the Teacher Release Payment will be released back to the school once attendance at the event has been confirmed.
