Summary
Interested to consider the issues impacting on children’s science learning in primary science in England and beyond? Based on the influential 2021 SEERIH-Ogden Trust Report, this session will stimulate professional discussion about its impact on you and your organisation.
Amanda Poole is a specialist in primary science education and Chartered Science Teacher. As a physicist, she began her career as a secondary advanced skills teacher in Coventry and after holding a range of senior leadership roles in secondary education she moved into the field of primary science education. She is now a Primary Science Education Consultant and Education Researcher completing a PhD at the University of Warwick. She currently holds various roles including School Culture Lead for The Ogden Trust and Campaign Coordinator for SEERIH at the University of Manchester, as well as founding and leading the Space Camp UK project in collaboration with the Stephen Hawking Foundation and the SHINE Trust. Amanda formed part of the team that developed the policy report, The 10 Key issues with Children's Learning in Primary Science (March 21), and is currently engaged in the follow up 'In Focus' research project which was inspired by the report.
