A hands on practical day packed  with hints and tips to improve the science lessons you teach and meet the needs for all your students.

Who is it for?

This conference is aimed at science teachers who are newly qualified or those in the early phases of their teaching careers who wish to enhance their science classroom skills.

What topics are covered?

Engaging science through effective questioning -Thinking like a scientist

Explore ways to design more engaging lessons, improve your communication and behaviour while teaching science and develop your students’ enthusiasm for learning science.

Tackling misconceptions -consider a range of strategies to assess pupil misconceptions and look at resources to help and support your teaching 

Ambition for all- with an opportunity to learn about classroom strategies to provide stretch and challenge as well as learn about organisations which can provide additional support and information to improve the quality of teaching and learning in your school and enhance your professional development

Maximising learning through practical work (From class activities to exam paper)

-through hands on activities this session explores ways to develop Maths, communication and enquiry skills to improve pupil outcomes.           

- It will explore how practical science will be assessed in the GCSEs and how you can prepare your pupils for success.
