Summary

This short course will equip teachers to enable their students to develop and apply the principles and concepts of computational thinking and computer science in an engaging and creative way. Teachers will learn how to teach the use the Lego WeDo physical computing kit enabling their students to write programs and control physical systems as they analyse and solve problems.

Outcomes

  • gain hands-on experience and confidence using the Lego WeDo physical computing kit and software/app  

  • explore pedagogy and lesson activities that make effective use of physical computing in the classroom 

  • plan how to implement physical computing in the classroom making purposeful cross curricular links such as with DT
