Oxfordshire and Reading Science and Computing Subscription

We are partnering with the South Central Computing Hub to offer secondary schools a pilot joint subscription for science CPD and Computing CPD.  By signing up and taking part in computing training, this means you can effectively get a subsidised subscription to our science support; depending on how many computing courses staff complete, your school could actually get more money back then they pay out as up to £1800 is available as a computing CPD bursary

Basic subscription with Computing – a basic package giving you some network time and individual coaching and training as needed, this could include:

• Needs analysis discussion and action plan (remote or face to face)
• 3 network meetings per year (e.g. heads of science days, technician network meetings, conference, remote or face to face as needed)
• 1 bespoke science twilight/ department meeting (up to 2 hours each) on areas chosen by HOS with coach advice- these can be done remotely or face to face
• I day of Computer Accelerator course

Total value £650

Subscription price £345 – with 1 day computing training refunded this could be reduced to £125*

*Each Computer Accelerator course is fully funded and attracts a bursary of £220.  If a teacher completes two courses they also get a £300 bonus funding for classroom practice is for teachers to use for any of the following: purchasing resources; CPD; funding towards chartered status; kit for after-school club; supporting events/networking with local schools (CAS or Computing Hubs) and computer science related student trips.
