Who is it for?
This fast track one hour session is perfect for anyone wanting a concise overview of Scratch, a programming language which is extremely popular in schools.
What topics are covered?
In this one hour session you will learn how to get started with programming in Scratch, how to navigate the interface, basic programming techniques, editing programs, responding to user input, movement, working with sound, creating a burglar alarm with a video camera, and how to create music in your projects. The final project will be where we write an art program step by step, this is a project that will appeal to learners of any age, and will be an excellent project to use when you return to the classroom.
Questions are welcome during the training as all programming will be done live while you watch the session.
After this session you will feel comfortable with Scratch and have the confidence to start using it on your own to write your own programs.
