Summary

Dr Lynne Bianchi is the Director of the Science & Engineering Education Research and Innovation Hub at The University of Manchester. This is a nationally recognised centre of specialists who inspire teachers to continually improve teaching and learning in science and engineering education in the UK.

 In this session Lynne will talk about the recent report, ‘The 10 key issues with children’s learning in primary science in England’ (Bianchi, Whittaker & Poole, 2021). She will talk about her research methodology and how she identified the issues impacting children’s learning experience within the primary science curriculum in England. She will then discuss the issues in more details and then offer her recommendations for the future.
