Summary

Develop your understanding of computational thinking and why this is critical to children in the EYFS/KS1 in light of the catch up curriculum. We will look at how we equip children with the skills and knowledge to bridge the transition into Key Stage One. 

Who is it for?

This course is suitable for teachers in EYFS and Key Stage One. 

What topics are covered?

We will look at computational thinking and how to blend this approach with the teaching and learning that is already happening in the classroom. Look at how topics and units can be tweaked to develop and encourage the use of computing skills to bridge the transition from EYFS to KS1.

 

Within the session we will look at the advantages of 'plugged' and 'unplugged' teaching and how to enhance learning through using outdoor spaces to develop the provision of computing teaching and learning.  

How will you learn?

This course is designed to be a collaborative space for you to share ideas and best practise. Looking at what has worked in your school as well as an array of ideas and resources that can be adopted in your EYFS/KS1 setting.

How long is this course?

This course is 1.5 hours of presenting and collaborating with 0.5 hours to feedback and talk about best practice.
