This is a face to face session identifying the key reasons and justifications for carrying out practical activities in your lessons. Explore the advantages and disadvantages of class activities and demos.

 

 

Who is it for?

This in-person session is designed for teachers of science subjects to students aged 11-19. It is particularly relevant for early career teachers, especially those who have just completed Initial Teacher Training.

Outcomes

By the end of the session you will: ·

  • Be able to identify and justify why doing a practical lesson or demo is beneficial to a topic
  • Be able to consider the demands of the practical when sequencing a series of lessons.
