Primary remote package network RC198 / B31
Ofsted's recently published "Research Review Series: Science" suggests that: "Expecting teachers to pick up subject knowledge through time spent teaching is misguided. It is therefore important that teachers have access to high-quality subject-specific CPD. This needs to be focused on the content and how to teach it, as opposed to generic pedagogies and so should be aligned with the curriculum that teachers teach."
This remote primary package includes 6 x 1.5 hour remote sessions.
- Subject leaders sessions
- Subject knowledge sessions - Biology, Chemistry, Physics
Session 1 of the Subject leaders course - Delivering the science curriculum post pandemic Are you looking for guidance on whole school curriculum planning following the COVID pandemic?PSTT Regional Mentor, Kate Redhead, shares an approach to mapping the curriculum from 2021 onwards. This approach addresses guidance, considers different starting points for topics and shares formative assessment strategies for establishing children’s understanding.
Session 2 of the Subject leaders course - Leading science in a post-pandemic world This session will look at establishing and/or adapting action plans for science. We will share ideas within the group on how to baseline and establish the needs of the school, as well as prioritising our approach for the coming year.
