This is a session from the remote STEM conference. For more details see 

Themes explored; Leadership, Pedagogy and Closing the Covid gap 

During this session, we will consider the key aspects of science that students need to demonstrate in examinations. Whilst the session will focus on GCSE demands, reference will be made to the requirements of A level and the importance of progression into GCSE, from GCSE to A level and from A level into Higher Education will be emphasised. Key support resources will be signposted

Outcomes

 

  • You will gain a knowledge of what the new framework and the "deep dives" will look like in your own school setting
  • Develop an awareness of effective strategies to support the new framework with colleagues in outreach work
  • Opportunity to network with colleagues in a similar role across both primary and secondary phases
  • We will also have the opportunity to discuss the challenges of being a science SLE trying to support collegues during the pandemic
