Core maths is a qualification designed for students who have attained grade 4 or better in GCSE but have chosen not to study A-level mathematics. That description covers over 200000 students a year, many of whom are studying other subjects that would benefit from mathematics support. In this session, Andrew will give an overview of AQA’s core maths offer, explaining why it is overwhelmingly the most popular choice for schools and colleges. He’ll show how Core maths can support success in other STEM subjects as well as being an engaging and rewarding qualification in its own right.
This session is suitable for teachers of maths who want to know more about core maths and teachers of other subjects with a significant mathematical content.
