Summary

A recurring area of concern for teachers engaging with remote teaching is student engagement. In particular, how to support lower attaining students and SEN. 

All modules of this course will address the themes of engagement, motivation and scaffolding in remote teaching with strategies within the course designed to support remote teaching (such as in the event of school closures) and provide effective homework strategies or for a blended learning approach.

This course is split into 5 modules as listed below. Within each module there will be two facilitator led sessions with a task to be completed in-between the sessions.     Outcomes

    • explore how you and your pupils use formative assessment to improve remote learning
    • explore how virtual tools can support students' development of understanding of the skills and techniques required for GCSE science
    • reflect on how remote learning can be adapted to meet the needs of all students including those with SEND or the most able
    • identify and evaluate how online tools can support different learning activities
    • identify how you will develop learning beyond the classroom with your students and their parents/carers
